HOPE House Meeting

One of our local missions partners, Hillsborough Organization for Progress and Equality is hosting a “house meeting” at Watermark.

HOPE is an interfaith community nonprofit doing justice work within Hillsborough County. Their goal is to identify injustice and push local decision makers into committing to action to address specific needs using “people power,” in other words, people showing up in unity to convey concern and desire to see change. One of their biggest successes has been the HOPE Affordable Housing Act, passed in 2019 allocating 50 million in past years for affordable housing, with 1,100 housing units funded.

HOPE investigates community needs within each church or organization through organizing an annual “house meeting” and looking at the most common justice needs voiced across these meetings. Next year’s new focus will be chosen from the “house meetings” held this year. Watermark will hold their “house meeting,” Sunday, 1/25 at 12:30-2:00pm in the parsonage. Please join us! and RSVP below if you plan to attend. Lunch will be provided.
