One of our local missions partners, Hillsborough Organization for Progress and Equality is hosting a network meeting this coming Thursday, February 12th.
HOPE is an interfaith community nonprofit doing justice work within Hillsborough County. Their goal is to identify injustice and push local decision makers into committing to action to address specific needs using “people power,” in other words, people showing up in unity to convey concern and desire to see change. One of their biggest successes has been the HOPE Affordable Housing Act, passed in 2019 allocating 50 million in past years for affordable housing, with 1,100 housing units funded.
At this network meeting, HOPE will unite with 100 others from our section of the County to fellowship, hear issue updates, and to begin preparing for the Nehemiah Action.
Location: First University SDA Church, 2225 E 109th Ave, Tampa, FL 33612, USA
