As Christians, we are called to be on the side of truth
We must humble ourselves
We must allow ourselves to learn from and be led by Black and indigenous POC
We must listen to understand, educating ourselves on the role the church has played in systemic racism
We must fight our urge to defend ourselves or our position and allow ourselves to be transformed
We must confess and lament our collective history of racism
Pray that we are known for our repentance
Christianity calls us to community and not individualism, seeking to engage in agapic, sacrificial love
We are called to bear witness to the hero: King Jesus. This ensures that we are never the hero of the story or situation
This maturation process requires correction, and we must be open to receiving correction
