Shanon has been professionally licensed since 1995. She founded Christian Counseling of South Tampa in 2004. She completed her undergraduate degree at Oklahoma Baptist University and her Masters of Science degree in Counseling at the University of South Alabama. Shanon received her PhD from Liberty University. She has been married to her husband, Todd, for over 30 years and has three children, Bailey (23), Jake (20), and Cade (15) . She enjoys participating in running and triathlon events. She also enjoys paddle boarding and yoga. Her life verse is Ephesians 3:20, based on Christ's amazing work in her life throughout her own childhood.
Fulfilling her calling as in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Shanon has supervised a long-term residential facility for adolescents, directed a family therapy program in an inpatient chemical dependency setting for adolescents, and directed an in-home counseling program servicing the court system, juvenile justice system, and Department of Children and Family. Today, she brings healing to couples through her specialization of intensive two day sessions while helping them reconnect emotionally, spiritually and physically. Along those lines, Shanon also works with Premarital couples with the SYMBIS program on a one-day intensive as well.
Shanon specializes in, but is not limited to, Marital/couples counseling from an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) perspective in a variety of settings such as Intensive and Outpatient. She also specializes in addiction/intervention, parent/child conflicts, abuse/trauma, Premarital counseling through SYMBIS, and issues such as anxiety and depression utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, and codependency for those in difficult relationships.
